No it does not, it will REDUCE performance. Cleaning the folder is a Myth:

This is in reply for the comment by andrew kfor my post in "Tips and Suggestions" link of mine on Prefetch cleaning...
Do not worry..Prefetch cleaning works...

There are many more blogs stating the above blog is a myth and that is a lie....
But I have viewed many sites and after my first hand experience i have posted the above message in T and S.
To emphasis above point.... download ccleaner software and u will find a prefetch cleaner option there by the way ccleaner is for cleaning junk in your computer...
Atlast if it does not work for you please do discuss in the forum or add comments to T and S so that i can do some lateral thinking...
