RE: Masking Opera as Another Browser

Opera_6
While using my Opera web browser for my regular web surfing, I've occasionally run into problems with Opera not displaying some sites correctly.  Menus don't always display correctly and I've had some problems with Typepad not displaying the Rich Text editor properly, which won't allow me to write my blog posts within Opera.

Never fear though, because Daniel Goldman with Opera came to my rescue!  For situations like these, you simply need to make Opera pretend to be Internet Explorer or Firefox for that particular website.   This can be done fairly easily.  Here are the steps:

Opera_mask_1

  1. Right-click the web page.

  2. Select Edit Site Preferences.

  3. Click the Network Tab.

  4. Click in the Browser Identification drop-down box.

  5. Select your preference.  You can identify or mask as Internet Explorer or Firefox (many websites are built for IE, so I recommend masking as Internet Explorer).

If you have any additional questions, please let me know!
